Acne Vulgaris is a chronic inflammation of the follicle pilocebaceous (one of the glands in the skin), accompanied by a blockage and accu
mulation of keratin, characterized by presence of blackheads, pustules, nodula, and cysts.
Causes
Various factors. The cause of acne is very much (multifactorial), among others: genetic, endocrine (androgen, pituitary sebotropic factor, etc.),
dietary factors, the activity of the gland itself sebacea, psychological factors, season, infectious bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes), cosmetics, and chemicals other.
Risk Factors
Acne commonly arise in the male and female puberty step, namely the age of 15-19 years (90%).
Symptoms and Signs
In acne can arise blackheads (blockages in the horn material pilosebaseus units); papules (closed comedones rupture); pustules (solid formations which have perlunakan on top, with release of pus), nodules (closed-assertion of blackheads on the skin larger than papules), and scarring.
Treatment
Treatment generally includes: wash face with soap twice a day, do not be excessive; avoid excessive use of cosmetics, avoid eating peanuts, chocolate, oil, butter, etc. (although some studies found no correlation between diet and incidence of acne). For the form of an ointment or antibiotic treatment should contact a physician.
